What is CBD?

New to CBD? Let's start with what CBD is not. CBD is not marijuana. CBD is short hand for cannabidiol. It is a molecular compound of the cannabis plant. It does not make you high. The plant Cannabis sativa has two primary species: hemp and marijuana. Both contain CBD, but there's a much higher percentage in hemp, which also has very low (less than 0.3%) levels of THC compared to marijuana.

Is Hemp Oil CBD?

No. Hemp oil or hemp seed oil comes from the seeds of the hemp plant and contains no CBD nor THC.

What does CBD do?

Studies have shown that CBD has anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety properties as well as the ability to help your mind relax so that you can sleep, though it does not make you sleepy.

Will I get high if I use CBD?

No. Although some CBD formulas contain traces of THC, it does not contain enough to make you high. However, if you purchase CBD from a marijuana dispensary, chances are good that it will contain higher amounts of THC. You would need to clarify with the seller.

Is CBD legal?

As of December 2018, Industrial Hemp is Federally legal. See H.R. 2 Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 which was signed into law on December 20, 2018 by President Donald Trump. In most states it is legal, however some states still have it as illegal or in a grey area. You would need to check with your state's specific laws on CBD.

Can I Pass a Drug Test?

It depends on the blood test, but to be safe use Isolate CBD which does not contain THC. CBD itself does not cause a positive reading on a drug test and CBD used on the surface of the skin, (topically), does not have any risk of positive tests. However, full-spectrum extracts taken internally can possibly cause a positive reading from trace amounts (<.3%) of THC. Isolates (isolating just the CBD molecule) requires a lot more processing and removes all of the THC. The trade-off is that it generally requires more CBD than using Full or Broad Spectrum CBD to achieve the same results.
